The process of actually getting licensed in different states can either be relatively simple or it can be quite arduous depending on the state. To make certain the process of getting licensed is as smooth as possible, it helps to know what type of timeline you are dealing with. Knowing this information will allow you to prepare and apply for licensure without feeling rushed or stressed.

Another thing to consider when getting licensed is whether the state participates in the Nurse Licensure Compact. Obtaining a license from a compact state means that you can take assignments in other compact states with out having to get another license. This may influence your decision on where you take assignments, especially if you are looking for ease and convenience.
