About Us Traveler Profiles

David Dewal, PICU RNOne of Our Own
Honoring the work of David Dewal, RN

It isn't often that a traveler receives recognition from both his or her patients and the facility, but that's exactly what happened to David Dewal, RN at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) in New Hampshire. David has worked an assignment at DHMC on and off since 2002 and always received praise from his supervisors and excellent evaluations. Things really came to light however, when two patients wrote to DHMC within weeks of each other to share how pleased they were with David's performance during their stay.

"It's an honor to be recognized by my patients. A lot of times, especially when working with adults, nursing can be a thankless job," remarked David on his acknowledgment of superior care.

Matt Choate, PICU Unit Leader at DHMC, had many positive comments on David's performance. "I have worked with David from time to time and my experience is always positive. He comes to work with a high level of energy - it's infectious in that he can rally the rest of the staff to the cause and keep the energy, humor and positive feeling going throughout the whole shift. David is exceptional with his patients - he is warm, caring and compassionate. His technical skills are excellent and he possesses a broad knowledge base in critical care. If I were a patient myself, David would be high on the list of nurses I would want caring for me."

In past evaluations, his supervisors have left comments such as, "David is a great nurse with exceptional skills. Caring for both children and adults. He has a wonderful personality, which blends with all staff," and, "The families were always happy with him. Davis is a good critical care resource."

It is easy to see that David has been quite an asset to DHMC, and Cross Country TravCorps as well. Although he is a traveler, David has made a name for himself in his current assignment, wherever that may be, through outstanding patient care and a willingness to be a part of the team. Congratulations David, your dedication has not gone unnoticed.
